Fireside Chat: Bridging the Gap Between Connected BIM Technology & Connected Teams to Eliminate Rework
1:00 pm
- Breaking down disconnects between engineering, detailing and fabrication teams to establish shared ownership of the end-to-end workflow, reducing duplication of effort, and ensuring upstream design decisions support downstream production requirements
- Overcoming resistance to adopting fabrication-ready BIM tools and processes by identifying barriers to change, exploring effective training strategies, and challenging established engineering practices that create unnecessary rework
- Demonstrating the downstream impact of early design and modelling decisions, from the use of generic Revit families versus MEP fabrication components to the quality of data transferred into fabrication, to build greater understanding and buy-in across teams
